ART THERAPY
Creative Therapy-Significant Results
Art therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It helps individuals explore their emotions, reduce stress, and resolve conflicts when traditional words simply aren't enough.
Art therapy is used with individuals of all ages—from children with behavioral challenges to older adults experiencing dementia. It is particularly effective for people processing trauma, addiction, anxiety, and chronic health crises. Scientific research shows that the physical act of making art reduces stress by actively lowering cortisol levels in the body. It allows clients to explore vulnerable topics in a safe, non-threatening manner.
Our art therapist at Columbus Tutoring Services is highly qualified and holds a dual-credential: a national board certification in art therapy paired with a state-issued license to independently diagnose and treat mental health disorders
